Thomas Passmore in America

Following hard on the heels of Barack Obama's victory in America, Thomas Passmore enjoyed a sweet victory of his own: a wonderful review from American-based Kathleen Maher at Diary of a Heretic.

Snuggled comfortably between a poster for Obama and an image of Bob Marley, I don't think he could want better company (see this week's Main Page of Kathleen's Reviews, Memes & Badges site).

I thoroughly enjoyed the way Kathleen crafted this review, and the phrase "he makes a pilgrimage through his past" is, I believe, one of many apt descriptions she's coined for the book. (Thanks.) What particularly pleases me is that The Snowing and Greening appears to be 'translating' well for a variety of readers, from different backgrounds. What more could I ask?

The review is also posted at Cr8Buzz. And, whilst your cruising the net, please visit Kathleen's companion site, where she regularly posts the serialisation of her novel Diary of a Heretic.

Has it reached the outer tribe of the Bong Bong Amazon river yet?

Thought that if I could get it picked up in Antarctica, the outer tribe of the Bong Bong Amazon river should be a breeze.

From Oz to Geordie land to America, TSAGTP certainly has a valid passport! Great stuff Paul.

Paul:

I read the review. Very nice. How's sales coming along? It sounds to me like everyone likes your book.

Happy trails.

Gary: Too right. So much for that old advertising slogan -- "Join the Army and see the world" -- it's just a matter of becoming a character in a novel.

Jane: Forewarned is... very excited. Is a Book Club Special at all like a Blue Peter Special? I seem to remember they always involved labradors falling asleep, Shetland ponies trying to mate with the camera and elephants... elephants were in there somewhere too. Good luck with your Special.

Swubird: Thanks. I'm pleased and relieved. After all, a large part is about entertainment. As for sales, I seriously don't know and I'm resisting asking the publisher. Without anything to compare it to (except perhaps Harry Potter, which would be daunting), the numbers wouldn't mean much to me. Happy trails to you too, Swubird.

Whilst targeting Antarctica and the Amazon river tribes, you might as well include llama herders of the Peruvian Andes. I've heard their literature pickings are fairly slim. They could probably use a good story now and then to break up the monotony.

With this in mind, I'll try and cater specifically for them in my next offering, Madison. 8~)
