Countdown

It's been a busy and exciting week. The Portland Observer ran an interview on Monday 11th August (click here), the PaperBooks website has leapt into high gear (regular blogs, an Online Shop with special offers, heaps of useful links...) and The View From Here launched the second edition of its print magazine (click here to preview and/or order).

And The Snowing and Greening of Thomas Passmore is now less than two weeks away from appearing in UK bookstores!!! (If anything deserves three exclamation marks, for me this is it.) I'll be posting the occasional blog over at PaperBooks before and after the release, so if you get a chance it'd be great to see you there too sometime.

Paul - you have been busy! I am over in the UK from Aug 30, so I'll be looking out for it.

I say this is a bit grey PB! You're not trying to get one up on John Major are you?!

( Mind you, I read Edwina's autobiography and Mr Major ain't quite so "grey" as we all thought!)

Actually, I quite like the colour; sophisticated in a masculine way. And, of course, a hell of a lot better than lots of little steam engines chuff- chuffing across the screen!

(Ps Feel free to delete this; it's Mr T's birthday and I've had a glass of champers so even more gibberish than usual.)

Thanks, JP. Excellent timing! (Hope you enjoyed the Alps and had a relaxing break.)

Hi, JT. Hmm... "sophisticated in a masculine way" -- that's better. So I'm glad I didn't go for pink with lots of flowers after all, although the John Major reference hurts, but TT & Friends will be rolling across the screen soon (as soon as I get the Fat Controller's widget to work).

A very happy birthday to Mr T. It's always good to have you drop by, champagne-fuelled or not!

Good to see you continuing to get all this pre-launch publicity, Paul, and to see your new blog - found courtesy of the revatalised PaperBooks site.

We need to be seen to be supporting Lucy on the PaperBooks site now that it is, at last, up and running - and particularly with your book about to be published and with links to your blog on the site.

To get a blog on it, send it to Lucy as an attachment.

Cheers, Jon. Have already done so. The site is certainly looking good.

the excitement is all too much, Paul! Best of luck, with everything that's happening, if you're anything like me you'll be loving every second, whilst looking over your shoulder, thinking, oh, s**t! Tried leaving a comment on the paperbooks website but I'm having difficulty verifying my comments. hopefully have that sorted today.

I must say it again...congratulations on a job well done! I look forward to seeing it in bookstores very soon (not to mention reading it myself!)

Gary, you're exactly right: part of me is excited and revelling in it, and part is a nervous wreck! One moment high as a kite and the next worrying about everthing that might go wrong. As for the PaperBooks comment section, it appears the click zone is just out of the box, or that was a problem I was having. Typepad seems to experience problems with its comment authentication system too at times.

Thanks, Madison. I appreciate that. Not sure when or if it'll get to the US, but it's certainly available on Amazon and a few other online sites.

Paul,

Just found it on Amazon! Found out that it releases in the US Sept 27th, so I promise I'll look for it!

Also, thanks for stopping by my blog. I too love that quote about growing. My favorite 'growth strategy' is reading amazing writing that is rich with metaphor and deeply thought out. I love that every unique writer brings something different to the table and that we can all experience each other's perspectives in new ways that stretch and grow us.

Thanks again,
Madison

Definitely, Madison. I love coming across those books which startle and delight me, and that I don't quite want to end. The Arts generally do this for me: a quality exhibition or a piece of music can also make me think differently about the world and provide a new, richer perspective.

Love the new look, Paul!

Also, I'm afraid I've memed you in my latest post. It's not my fault! I didn't start the meme - I have simply been swept up with the current...

You can find your istructions here:

The agency won't disavow knowledge of your actions should you be caught. That would be silly.

Touche! Just because I jumped on the bandwagon and followed the herd re. the visuals over on your site(must've been one big wagon, quite a musical herd) doesn't mean you have to do the same, Stella.

A meme?! Six unspectacular things about me? Only six?????

Okay, coming up soon...

This is very exciting. You must be on edge.

I'll check the book out on Amazon.

Still like the site. It really jumps out as a no nonsense blog!

Happy trails.

Cheers, Swubird. I certainly am on the edge, although sometimes it feels like the edge of insanity! Thanks for checking it out on Amazon. That's much appreciated.
