Little Red Rooster

While following through on a reference I wanted to use in Number Two -- was looking for a performance of Little Red Rooster by Muddy Waters -- I came across this tremendous Howlin' Wolf version and one by The Stones.

Enjoyed this, Paul. Thanks.

I have a mouldy plastic case which contains my original collection of 45s. In it, I have the Rolling Stones' version of 'Little Red Rooster'. I thought I had Muddy Waters' version too, but I've got him singing 'Smokestack Lightning', 'Howling for my Baby, 'Going Down Slow', 'You'll be Mine' and 'Just Make Love to Me'. I've also got the very first 45 I ever bought - but I'm too embarrassed to tell you what it is.

Oh, I've even got a turntable to play them on.

That's a great collection of Muddy Waters' songs, Jon. I only caught up to him in the era of cassettes, I'm afraid, which aren't so durable as the 45s. My first 45 was... Puff the Magic Dragon by Peter, Paul and Mary. My innocent memories of owning this as a child were ripped away by my son a couple of years back, when he told me the lyrics were all about taking drugs!
